Business News Americas - English June 24, 2011 Peru's President Alan García has signed an agreement to transfer 55.6mn soles (US$20.1mn) to finance projects under the government's Agua para Todos (water for all) program and continue work on potable water projects throughout the country. Of the total, 32.4mn soles will be earmarked for 17 projects under Agua para Todos, state news agency Andina reported. Work will be carried out in San Martín region and in the provinces of Rodríguez de Mendoza (Amazonas region), Arequipa (Arequipa) and Pacasmayo (La Libertad) and Coronel Portillo (Ucayali), among others. Another 23.3mn soles will be transferred to four state firms to continue work on potable water and sewerage projects in districts Mollendo-Matarani (Arequipa region), Huascachura (Ayacucho), Alto Trujillo (La Libertad) and Pimentel (Lambayeque).
