La organización del Maratón de Pacasmayo informa que la 13° edición 2020 se realizará en formato virtual, adaptando e innovando nuestro evento a las circunstancias actuales que vive el Perú y el mundo por la crisis sanitaria mundial COVID-19.
Nuestra prioridad es y será siempre la salud y seguridad de los corredores y de nuestra comunidad, por ello en cumplimiento de las normas legales del gobierno que prohíben la realización de eventos masivos y en consideración de la estrategia de la OMS frente a la COVID-19, que recomienda el distanciamiento físico y la restricción de viajes nacionales; nuestra organización se adhiere a la movilización mundial asumiendo responsabilidad y participando en la prevención de casos mediante el distanciamiento físico a nivel individual.
Por ello hemos decidido que el 13° Maratón de Pacasmayo será una edición virtual y tendrá un formato innovador, siendo la responsabilidad del corredor el eje principal del evento virtual; pues el corredor diseñará su ruta, activará su app, correrá/trotará/caminará cumpliendo los protocolos establecidos por la autoridad y alcanzará la meta que se proponga, que puede ser 5K, 10K, 21K ó 42K.
El corredor deberá proporcionar a la organización la prueba virtual de haber completado la distancia requerida para obtener el diploma virtual de finalista del Maratón Pacasmayo 2020 – edición virtual.
Participa del 13° Maratón de Pacasmayo edición virtual; cumpliendo las directivas del gobierno y diseñando personalmente tu ruta de carrera. Con actitud, creatividad y responsabilidad, vamos a correr de otro modo, vamos a sacar lo mejor de nosotros, privilegiando siempre el interés común antes que el interés personal.

The Marathon Committee announces that the 2020 Pacasmayo Marathon 13th Edition will be organized virtually. Because of the current circumstances in Perú and worldwide due to the COVID-19 global health crisis, it is necessary that we adapt, innovate and modify the 2020 Pacasmayo Marathon.
Our #1 Priority is, and always will be, the safety of our runners, volunteers, staff and the Pacasmayo community. In order to be in compliance with the government’s legal regulations that prohibit holding large events, as well as the WHO strategy against COVID-19, which recommends physical distancing and restricting national trips, our organization will show our support and continue to potentially prevent COVID-19 cases by physically distancing at the individual level.
Therefore, as an organization that desires to be part of the solution and not part of the problem, our belief is that a virtual marathon is the best option for this year. Runners will create their own courses, keep their own time based on an app they will download to their phone, and run, jog or walk their selected distance goal of either a 5km, 10km, 21km or 42km.
The runner must provide the organization with virtual proof of having completed the distance required to receive a certificate of completion for the 13th Pacasmayo Marathon Virtual Edition.
We encourage you to participate in the 13th Pacasmayo Marathon Virtual Edition! By doing so, you will not only be supporting government directives but also having fun designing and running/jogging/walking your own course. With a positive attitude, creativity and a commitment to social responsibility, we will bring out the best in each other. Moreover, we will be prioritizing the common good over personal interest.
